You need NFC to write to a tag in the app. But anyone can scan a PawLink tag — NFC-capable phones tap the tag; all other phones can scan the QR code. No app download needed for the finder.
Yes! Our NFC stickers are rated IP67 — fully waterproof for rain, puddles, baths, and snow. The QR collar tags are stainless steel and virtually indestructible.
NFC stickers last 5+ years with normal use. They have no battery — they're powered by the scanning phone's NFC signal. QR collar tags are laser-engraved stainless steel and last essentially forever.
Absolutely. NFC tags can be rewritten unlimited times through the PawLink app. Just go to your pet's profile and tap "Write to NFC Tag". QR tags are linked to your account and can be reassigned to any pet.
The finder's phone opens a web page showing your pet's profile — name, photo, and safe contact options. They can share their name, phone number, and GPS location with you. Your configured recovery plan fires automatically: SMS, push notification, email, and any webhooks you've set up.
